Mass Effect - Rebirth
Experience: X X O O O
Pack Wrangler: When you lead your pack into battle, roll
+Hard. On a 10+, hold 3. On a 7-9, hold 2. You can spend your hold 1 for 1 to make your pack:
- Treat something as a threat.
- Defend you at all costs.
- Cease treating something as a threat.
You also get a pack of Varren:
By default: 2-harm gang small, and choose 2:
- Your gang has access to shield implants.
- Your gang is very well-trained.
And choose 1:
- Your pack is playful, sometimes violently so. Vulnerable: reprisals
If you have an advance to spend, you may cross out any unselected advance to either gain a new option from the first list, or remove the option from the second list.
Asymmetrical Thinker: Whenever you ask questions on a successful use of read a situation or read a person you may always ask one question that isn’t on the list, even if you haven’t advanced the moves, or rolled a 12+.
Tech Armor: When you go into battle wearing armor with an in-built shield-generator, roll
+Sharp. On a 10+, gain
+2-shields, on a 7-9, gain
+1-shields. This bonus lasts the entire battle, and refreshing your shield will include the bonus. At any time during the battle you may purge your shield energy. Select one character within close range per level of shields you wish to purge and inflict 2-harm (disruptor) to them. Not compatible with Barrier or Fortification.
You are a master of all things biological, medical, and cybernetic. You may work on people or other biological specimens as if you were a Mechanic.
Laboratory: a med-bay, growth vats of raw materials, high-tech gadgets; surgery suite
You may go into your laboratory using the same rules as an Engineer going into their workspace.
Trauma Care: When you take a wounded companion into your laboratory roll
+Sharp. On a 10+, the person or other biological system can ignore 2 of the harm it has thus far taken. On a 7-9, they can ignore 1 of the harm they have taken. On a miss, you may well have made things worse… Note that this does not permanently repair the damage (that requires real medical care), but it will stave off death or debility temporarily.
You have a pet creature capable of fighting by your side. You can’t talk to it per se but it always acts as you wish it to.
Ferocity +2, Cunning +2, 1 Armor, Instinct +2
Choose as many strengths as its ferocity: adaptable, keen senses
Your animal is trained to fight people.
Choose as many additional trainings as its cunning: search, guard
Choose as many weaknesses as its instinct: savage, stubborn
When you work with your animal companion on something it’s trained in:
…and you attack the same target, add its ferocity to the harm you inflict
…and you track, add its cunning to your roll
…and you take damage, add its armor to your armor and it’s ferocity drops by 1 until you heal it.
…and you read a situation, add its cunning to your roll
…and you seduce or manipulate, add its cunning to your roll
…and someone interferes with you, add its instinct to their roll
…and you fail on your move, take a penalty forward equal to its instinct
For advancement, you may cross off any unused advance to instead choose 2 new trainings.

Jaeto Degtiar Etacet Karede Toccoa Navarr
All Toccoa Navarr wanted as a child was to be a part of something bigger, something exciting! To be like STG super-spy Narra Kos (the star of her favorite holovid series, Agent Nebula.) But she had to go to school, and by the time she was ready to head off to Talat University on Sur’Kesh, Toccoa Navarr had learned never to talk about what she really wanted to do—not unless she wanted another lecture from Great-Aunt Carinae about, “Her role in the bloodline blah, blah responsibility to the family blah, blah duty blah, blah, blah…”
So she went to school, where, let’s face it, she did brilliantly, because there was no sense in wasting the opportunity, and Talat University was the most prestigious university in the Salarian Union.
After she completed her graduate degrees, Toccoa Navarr figured that she’d done her bit for her family. She tried to join the STG, but was turned down. With no other real options, she began to work as a Research Associate Professor in Talat University’s Department of Xenology. Shortly before the Reapers appeared on the scene, she was put in charge of the research department on Worosun Research Station, above Thunawanuro, where a small group of salarians worked on adapting varren to high-gravity envirornments. The appointment got her away from Sur’Kesh before the Reapers attacked. And now, the whole system is cut off.
Great-Aunt Carinae’s insistence on her duty to her bloodline seem…a bit pointless, now.
